Outreach for Water Conservation
Water Reliability 2020 Program
Huell Howser brings the water supply in community infrastructure to life in this video.
Community infrastructure management is complex -- and requires a large portion of tax dollars to provide for transportation, safety and security, as well as adequate communications, food... and water. Fresh water is a precious commodity - especially in communities that thrive on modern agriculture and also host huge mega-cities. That's california.
The water supply is only part of a community's infrastructure solution. How water is used is critical. How it is distributed, priced, reused and reused again -- those are all important water use issues. California is a leader in agricultural innovation, as well as in allocation and recycling fresh water. This video explains how H20 is both big business -- and a big consumer issue.
Follow California's best known community journalist, Huell Howser on a 28-minute tour of the Southern California agricultural and urban infrastructure. The "West Basin's Water Reliability 2020 Program" is viewable on West Basin's website, www.westbasin.org.
